Robot Factory II

Twenty activities that motivate children to investigate and explore mathematical concepts independently.

The activities are based in a robot factory and the mathematical concepts include:

• Estimation
• Interpreting data
  • timetables

  • Venn diagrams
• Right angles
• Measuring
  • instruments to measure
  • reading scales
• Money
• Lines of symmetry

Users complete activities to collect robot pieces and build their own robot.

Learning Outcomes

Grasp and reinforce new mathematical concepts within four main themes:

• number - estimation, place value, fractions, mental calculations
• measures and money - timetables, instruments to measure, calculating measures, reading scales, coins
• shape, position and movement - 2-D shapes, lines of symmetry, right angles, patterns
• handling data - interpreting pictograms, bar graphs, tables and Venn diagrams, creating graphs
